Philip Lowe
Director General for Energy, European Commission
“Driving industrial competitiveness: implications for European energy policy".
Philip Lowe was born in Leeds in 1947. He read Politics,
Philosophy and Economics at St John's College, Oxford and has an M. Sc. from
London Business School. Following a period in the manufacturing industry, he
joined the European Commission in 1973, and held a range of senior posts as
Chef de Cabinet and Director in the fields of regional development,
agriculture, transport and administration, before becoming Director-General of
the Development DG in 1997. From September 2002 he was Director-General of the
Competition DG until he took up his current appointment as
Director-General of the Energy DG in February 2010. |

Steven A. Sonnenberg
Executive Vice President, Emerson
and Business Leader, Emerson Process Management
Steve Sonnenberg leads Emerson's process management business which posted sales of $7 billion in fiscal 2011. He was appointed as Emerson executive vice president and the business leader of Emerson Process Management in October 2008. Sonnenberg joined Emerson in 1979 as a marketing analyst with its Brooks Instrument division. His career progressed rapidly as he assumed a number of marketing and general management positions in Germany, London and Asia Pacific. In 2000, Sonnenberg was appointed president of Emerson Process Management Asia Pacific, and in 2002 he was appointed president of Emerson's Rosemount division. During his tenure, he has also been responsible for several Emerson acquisitions including: Rosemount TankRadar (formerly Saab Marine), Mobrey, Damcos, and Metran. Sonnenberg holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Georgia Tech and a master's of business administration from University of Virginia.

Dave Beckmann
Emerson Process Management
Dave received his Electrical Engineering degree from LeTourneau University in Texas.
He then went on to receive a Masters Degree in International Relations from Trinity University in Chicago and Business Administration at Harvard Business School.
Dave started his career with Siemens in 1969.
In 1977, Dave joined Honeywell in Richmond, Virginia.He was later promoted to Branch Sales manager in Houston, TX, and then Branch Manager of South Texas with an office in San Antonio.
In 1987, Dave was promoted to General Manager for Honeywell Europe.
In 1995 Dave finally saw the light and joined Emerson as a Vice President of marketing. He was promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing for Emerson Process Management in 2000.
Dave "unofficially" retired from Emerson in 2007, but continues to travel the world as a speaker for companies in the Process Industry.

Robert (Bob) T. Sharp
President, Emerson Process Management Europe
Bob Sharp, President, Emerson Process Management Europe is responsible for leading all of the European sales and marketing activities for Emerson Process Management. He has worked for Emerson for 15 years.
Previously Bob was the President of Emerson’s Rosemount Level and Marine division, and was responsible for integrating three Emerson acquisitions into a single global Level & Marine division that serves the Marine Tank Management, Process Level and Tank Gauging markets.
Bob has also been the Vice President of Rosemount’s Global Temperature business, and before that Vice President Global Marketing for Rosemount. He also spent several years at Emerson Corporate within strategic planning roles, and as the Director of Investor Relations. In his past roles, Bob has been responsible for operating and sales units in a number of countries across Europe, including Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Germany, Finland, Russia and The Netherlands.
Bob has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Harvard.
